Birdman featuring Lil Wayne - Always Strapped

Random Lyric:
Top chopped sent the car to the barber shop
My driveway look something like a parking lot

Are we back to doing this again? Take some New Orleans beats and then talk about firearms again? And the lyrics come from Birdman and Lil Wayne again? Remember when the Big Easy had more than two rappers you could listen to? Whatever happened to those days and this isn't something you can blame on Katrina (even though the government still has to answer for a multitude of sins regarding that hurricane). The Nola fell off to just Baby and Weezy a while ago.

And now we have a jam that shows that their collaboration is falling off, too. Weezy is still arguable the hottest spitter going, but Birdman is quickly becoming an afterthought. The beat here ventures into "Prom Queen" territory without fully going there. And is it just us or does Lil Wayne sound bored in this one? There's a difference between a relaxed flow and a "I'm only doing this because I'm under contract" flow and we think Wayne is guilty of the latter on this one.

And where is Birdman? When you listen to the song, do you even care? Or are you listening to see if there's any interesting wordplay or creative rhyming from Weezy? By the time we get Baby, it's two minutes into the song and chances are, you've decided you'd rather listen to something else. If you make it to the end, you'll realize that it has nothing to do with guns. Wha..?
