It's starting to look like Flo Rida has decided that the pop rap niche is the perfect fit for him and he could be right. This new one could be right on time for Black Eyed Peas (if they didn't already have something out) and he seems to be comfortable in that role.

The beat is faster and fuller than most hip hop, which already sets it apart from the typical hip hop which has a drum machine, a horror flick synth line and "big booty girl" lyrics. The one thing that Flo Rida has in common with more straight ahead hip hop is that he obviously likes big booty girls as evidenced by hits like "Low" and "Right Round." This one is in that vein lyrically. She's like candy and he's going to get him some. Wyntor sings about having her lips like candy. You get the idea.

So here's another pop hit for a rapper where the record company doesn't understand what they have. They're pushing "Shone" on hip hop radio when it's obvious that the vast majority of Mr. Rida's audience prefers his Top 40 material. Gasp, a clueless record company? Really?
